SCLARC is a regional non-profit organization that serves community members and families with “intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy and other similar disabilities(South Central Los Angeles Regional Center, n.d., para. 1-2).” It provides services including behavior intervention, Clinical Services, and Lanterman act services. The parent resource center also provides essential supports for parents to build the capacities together to better support the children with special needs.

Equality California connects and advocates LGBTQ members across the states. The organization supports LGBTQ communities in civil rights, addressing discriminations, healthcare, and promoting equality in public education(Equality California, n.d.).

The LACOE has developed several programs to support students with special needs. The LACOE provides Foster Youth Services Coordination Program to support students in foster care or on probation, Health Outreach Program to provide socioeconomically disadvantaged students basic healthcare, Homeless Program attending to homeless students(Los Angeles County Department of Education, n.d.).

1736 Family Crisis Center provides free programs for victims suffering from domestic violence, homeless youth and adults, and other low-income community members. Programs are Emergency Youth Shelter “open to any runaway, homeless, or throwaway teenager (ages 10-17),” domestic violence program open to domestic violence victims and their children, community service center programs offering mental health therapy, job development, and legal support (1736 Family Crisis Center, n.d.).

Wellnest Emotional Health & Wellness is previously named as Formerly known as the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic. It offers mental health consulting for children, youth, young adults(up to 25) and their families by addressing trauma, stabilizing families, behavior intervention, etc.

Parent Center supports parents and students to build their capacities to succeed in school and “preserve their roots”. The parent center facilitates the training of parent portal, Language programs, how to develop math skills at home, and lectures on Socratic Seminar(Quiroga, Personal Interview, January 21, 2020). They also refer students and parents to the outside community resources when needed.
